Fuel economy numbers used for comparative calculations are based on information taken from the 2016 EnerGuide Fuel Consumption Guide.
The calculated numbers are based on estimated on 2016 fuel prices of $1.09/L for regular gasoline, $1.24/L for premium gasoline and $1.12/L for diesel fuel, as provided by EnerGuide.
The starting calculation assumes a 55 percent city and 45 percent highway usage and the cost for each model is then calculated by using their respective city and highway efficiency rates multiplied by the cost of fuel for an annual estimated driving distance of 20,000 km and then added together. The sum of the results of the city and highway calculations is the total aggregated cost of the mileage.
The numbers provided are for comparison purposes only. Your fuel consumption will vary depending on how, where and when you drive.
The vehicles compared are the closest and most similar model from each manufacturer based on price, engine type, engine size and classification when compared to the 2016 Ram 1500 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 (HFE model) engine.
YOUR FUEL CONSUMPTION WILL VARY
The ratings that appear in the latest EnerGuide Fuel Consumption Guide show the fuel consumption that may be achieved with a properly maintained vehicle driven with fuel efficiency in mind.
The published ratings are a useful tool for comparing vehicles before you buy, but they may not accurately predict the fuel consumption you will get.
