Fuel economy numbers used for comparative calculations are based on information taken from the latest EnerGuide Fuel Consumption Guide.
The calculated numbers are based on a driving distance of 20,000 km and EnerGuide forecasted prices of $1.27/L for regular gasoline and $1.26/L for diesel fuel.
The starting calculation assumes a 55 percent city and 45 percent highway usage. The cost for each model is then calculated by using their respective city and highway efficiency rates multiplied by the cost of fuel and then added together. The sum of the results of the city and highway calculations is the total aggregated cost of the mileage.
The numbers provided are for comparison purposes only. Your fuel consumption will vary depending on how, where and when you drive.
The vehicles compared are the closest and most similar model from each manufacturer based on price, engine type, engine size and classification when compared to the 2015 Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x2 HFE model with 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 and 8-speed automatic transmission.
YOUR FUEL CONSUMPTION WILL VARY
The ratings that appear in the 2015 EnerGuide Fuel Consumption Guide show the fuel consumption that may be achieved with a properly maintained vehicle driven with fuel efficiency in mind.
The ratings provide a reliable comparison of the fuel consumption of different vehicles. However, no test can simulate all possible combinations of conditions that may be experienced by drivers. Your vehicle’s fuel consumption will vary from the published ratings, depending on how, where and when you drive
The published ratings are a useful tool for comparing vehicles before you buy, but they may not accurately predict the fuel consumption you will get.
