Exclusive to the TRX, the Bilstein® Black Hawk® e2 shock system continuously and instantaneously adapts to the terrain. It is the most sophisticated damping system ever offered on a production truck.

Advanced Rebound and Compression Management

The Bilstein system’s Dual-Valve technology enables it to infinitely adjust both rebound and compression damping depending on terrain and driver input. With extraordinary precision, the system adjusts damping forces in microseconds.

High-Pressure Stainless Steel Braided Hoses

Designed using aerospace and motorsport technology, the high-pressure lines feeding the damping system are shielded by braided stainless steel and sealed using a metal-to-metal process. This construction protects against abrasion and corrosion and is capable of withstanding temperatures up to 275° F and pressures over 5,800 psi.

Nitrogen Gas Charged

Each of the Bilstein dampers is charged with pressurized nitrogen gas contained in a remote independent reservoir. System performance will not degrade in extreme conditions, and there is more room in the damper for piston rod travel — important for extreme suspension travel and articulation.

ZoneControl® Jounce Cut Off

The ZoneControl® system prevents damage to the suspension or frame due to bottoming out in full-compression situations. A secondary piston activates this patented hydraulic cushion technology, specifically tuned for the TRX.


Select one of eight TRX performance drive modes, or valet mode, by activating the switches on the exclusive TRX switch bank.

Sport Mode

Sport mode is for the enthusiast. Quicker shift times, a tightened suspension, a 30/70 torque split and sport-tuned stability control combine to provide optimal performance on paved surfaces.

Snow Mode

The ultimate four-season pickup, the TRX includes Snow mode with initial 45/55 torque split and manages engine horsepower for optimal traction on snow and ice.

Custom Mode

The TRX Custom mode lets you combine specific performance parameters like steering feel, torque split, suspension firmness and more, to tailor your driving experience to your unique preference.

Mud/Sand Mode

To overcome the challenges of driving in deep sand and mud, this mode uses a 45/55 initial torque split and manages throttle response and torque distribution to optimize traction.

Rock Mode

The unique challenge of traversing rocks is managed by changing to an extra low-gear ratio and a 50/50 torque split. Plus, the Selec-Speed® Control system automatically holds a set velocity for a controlled descent.

Baja Mode

High speed travel on sand is optimized by the Baja mode with 68% reduced shift times, full damping on the Bilstein® system, and control settings to allow for moderate oversteer and maximum fun.

TRX is a high-performance truck, on-road and off, with the command-and-control functions you need to maximize your own performance.
